Brian Nitzkin, FOUNDER

Brian started 1252 International in 2017. He is a seasoned veteran of the entertainment industry. Brian is a sought-after speaker on business and film & theatre production, guest lecturing at UCLA, Cal State Northridge, Illinois State University, and Ball State University. He began his career as a high school teacher and built his career in entertainment at Paramount, Hasbro, and most recently IM Global where he served as Vice President of Business Affairs and International Operations. Brian is a Chicago native who came to LA with his family by way of New York over a decade ago.

 

 

JAMES COUPE (Litigation, Business & Legal Affairs, Arbitration) 

 James has extensive transnational experience in structuring business affairs and legal aspects of the financing of motion picture and television productions, co-production financing, split rights financing and credit supported and secured financing.  Additional legal and business affairs expertise include copyright, trademark, chain of title and music licensing matters, acquisition and development contracts, drafting and negotiation of all major agreements with cast and crew, the guilds, distributors, banks and related completion guaranty documentation.  James also has also spent many years negotiating and drafting financing and bank credit agreements, letters of credit, completion bonds and security and inter-creditor agreements related to film financing. For over twenty years, James has served as a dispute resolution profession with the American Arbitration Association’s Commercial Panel of Neutral Arbitrators, the International Arbitration Tribunal of the Independent Film and Television Alliance (“IFTA”), the L.A. Superior Court ADR Panel, and the Attorney Settlement Panel of the U.S. District Court for the C.D. Cal. Practice involves both arbitration and mediation in media industry and general commercial matters. In addition, James represents parties in IFTA and AAA arbitrations. He is admitted to the Bar in California, New York and Tennessee. 

 

JASON ZHANG (Financial Analysis Services)

Jason is a seasoned finance and accounting professional who has had a decade of experience working with various platforms across the Media and Entertainment Industry.  He started his M&E career as an agent with William Morris Endeavor (WME) and had also worked with various film and televisions production studios focusing on financial modeling, business strategies, planning and accounting practices.  Jason is well versed in contract and business analysis and can provide end-to-end financial transaction consultation.  Prior to his start in entertainment, Jason was a financial advisor with Convergent Wealth Advisors, the investment subsidiary of City National Bank with an approx. $9B AUM.  He is a graduate from the University of Maryland and is a certified Chartered Financial Analyst.

 

BRANDON L. BROWN (Rights Management) 

Brandon L. Brown is multi-talented and forward-thinking with demonstrated success as Assistant Director for a documentary film, and as Associate Producer in pre-production and as Production Assistant for Warner Brothers. He is a collaborative forward-thinker with expertise providing administrative support including maintenance and update of licensing information, metadata and rights availability. Excellent communicative and interpersonal abilities to problem solve and build rapport with clients, staff, and other stakeholders to ensure positive customer relations. Holding a Bachelor’s from DePaul University and a Masters from the University of Southampton, as well as a postgraduate certificate in Media Law from the University of London.

 

MICHELLE STEVENS (Rights Management)

Michelle is a meticulous and analytical professional with over 20 years of experience in the Entertainment Industry specializing in Rights Management.  At 20th Century Fox, Michelle led a tactical team in supporting the Studio with accurate and precise Business Rights information through clearly designed processes and audit tracking.  She has also been the subject matter expert on functionality in the design, development and deployment of two Rights Management systems. Michelle is a graduate of the University of California at Santa Barbara in Film Studies.

 

ADAM COBB (Acquisitions and Production Management)

Adam has a wealth of experience in the entertainment industry, having worked in film production, sales, acquisitions and marketing in various capacities over the past seven years. In his position as Senior Manager of Production at IM Global, Adam managed the physical production of the company's financed films from acquisition through delivery. He also has extensive knowledge of the domestic and international film marketplaces having worked as part of both the sales and marketing teams, including at film markets such as the Marché du Film in Cannes and the American Film Market in Santa Monica. Most recently, Adam has worked as a consultant and producer for independent short and feature length films by assisting in development, securing financing and shepherding the films into production. 

 

ALEXSANDR ANISIMOV (Translation Services)

Alex is an accomplished specialist in international relations, with fluency in Chinese Mandarin and Russian. He obtained comprehensive experience in business operations with China, serving as a translator of spoken word and documentations translator. Alex is a proven specialist in sourcing industrial electrical equipment, materials, and consumer products from China. Alex boasts over ten years of experience with remarkable performance for a large Eastern European supermarket network, rendering consultancy services to a number of sole-proprietor companies, including IP protection U.K based company, large European media conglomerate VIASAT; Texas, U.S. based power supplies company, most of the time operating in capacity of a Project Manager, Buyer, Liason and Company Representative in China.

what's the process?

1252 Int. is a client-centered company. We begin each project with an interview-based needs assessment. Next, we provide clients with a proposed action plan. Once priorities are set, we get to work.

What are your fees?

Fees and billing are tailored to the requirements of each client's project. We offer individual consulting at an hourly rate, flat-rate fees by project, and a retainer fee structure for ongoing projects.
